Stake Trek is a youth activity that recreates, in a small way, the experience of the early Latter-day Saint pioneers who traveled west in faith and sacrifice. During Trek, youth and adult leaders are organized into “families” and spend several days together walking, working, and learning in an outdoor setting.
More than a historical reenactment, Trek is a spiritual experience designed to help youth strengthen their testimonies of Jesus Christ, build unity with one another, and gain a deeper appreciation for the faith, obedience, and perseverance of those who came before us. Through shared challenges, devotionals, music, and meaningful moments of reflection, Trek invites participants to feel the Lord’s hand in their own lives and to commit to “go and do” in their discipleship today.
Trek is open to all youth born in 2012 through the graduating class of 2026. Youth will participate alongside adult leaders who serve in a variety of roles, including “Ma and Pa” leaders, support staff, and a dedicated trail leadership team.
We are committed to ensuring every youth who desires to participate is able to do so, including those with physical disabilities. Accommodations and assistive handcarts are available, and we invite families to reach out so we can plan accordingly.
Adult leaders and volunteers are also needed. If you have a skill or interest in areas such as food, logistics, activities, medical support, or general service, we would love to hear from you.

Trek will be held at Bing Canyon Pioneer Camp, a Church-owned property in southeastern Washington, located approximately 40 minutes west of the Tri-Cities, near Plymouth.
Bing Canyon provides an ideal setting for an authentic pioneer trek experience. The trail is moderately challenging, offering meaningful physical and spiritual growth while remaining accessible to youth and healthy adults. The location includes resources and equipment to support accessibility and safety for all participants.
